The Huawei MateBook supports fast charging over USB Type-C with its own USB Power Delivery based charger but it should also be able to work with certain third party chargers like the Targus 45W USB Type-C Laptop AC Wall Charger (click here for Amazon pricing).

The Targus 45W USB Type-C Laptop AC Wall Charger enables fast charging using USB Power Delivery technology over its USB Type-C port up to 45W. When connected to the Huawei MateBook, the charger starts communicating over USB Power Delivery by offering 15 watts (5 volts @ 3 amps), 36 watts (12 volts @ 3 amps), and 37.5 watts (15 volts @ 2.5 amps) power profiles to the tablet.

The Huawei MateBook then requests to pull only 15 watts (15 volts @ 1 amps) which the charger accepts. The tablet subsequently follows up by requesting 37.5 watts (15 volts @ 2.5 amps) which is also accepted by the charger.

Later on the Targus 45W USB Type-C Laptop AC Wall Charger declares that it supports not only the 15 watts (5 volts @ 3 amps), 36 watts (12 volts @ 3 amps), and 37.5 watts (15 volts @ 2.5 amps) it initially declared but also an additional power profile of 45 watts (20 volts @ 2.25 amps). Interestingly, the Huawei MateBook again shows how it initially behaved with the charger by requesting to pull an initial 20 watts (20 volts @ 1 amps) which the charger complies. The tablet then follows up to request 45 watts (20 volts @ 2.25 amps) which is also accepted by the charger.

With the Huawei MateBook's battery being already well charged, the tablet is observed to charge at 20 watts (20 volts @ 1 amps).

We can confirm that the Huawei MateBook can work with the Targus 45W USB Type-C Laptop AC Wall Charger to charge using USB Power Delivery.
