The LG G6 supports USB Power Delivery over USB Type-C but what happens when you try to charge it using the Google 18W USB-C Power Adapter which also supports USB Power Delivery?

The Google 18W USB-C Power Adapter starts communicating over USB Power Delivery by constantly advertising that it can deliver 15 watts (5 volts @ 3 amps) and 18 watts (9 volts @ 2 amps) to the LG G6 which then requests to pull 18 watts (9 volts @ 2 amps) which the charger complies.

When the LG G6 is being charged on a fully drained battery, we can see that charging happens at about 15.3 watts (9 volts @ 1.7 amps).

We can confirm that the LG G6 can be charged by the Google 18W USB-C Power Adapter that comes with the Google Pixel using USB Power Delivery when the battery is completely drained on the phone.
