Hama sells a variety of HDMI cable products that come with different cable lengths such as the 3m High Speed HDMI Cable and 1.8m High Speed HDMI Cable. The Hama 1.8m High Speed HDMI Cable offers a shorter 6 ft HDMI cable and states that it can support HDMI 2.0b, 4K Ultra HD (4K@60Hz), HDR and 18 Gb/s just like the Hama 3m High Speed HDMI Cable. Similarly the 1.8m Hama cable also enables 1440p and 1080p HDMI signal frame rates, 3D video output and 100 Mb/s Ethernet.
Both the Hama 1.8m and 3m HDMI cables come with gold plated connector design and ferrite core materials which it claims to enable high quality and secure signal transmission when connected to devices.
Using the GRL DI20 cable tester to test the insertion loss through the Hama 1.8m High Speed HDMI Cable, we can see the cable has much better overall signal integrity performance when compared to the Philips 6ft High Speed HDMI Cable even though they are the same length. While more expensive, the Hama 1.8m High Speed HDMI Cable has lower loss under 10 GHz compared to the cheaper Philips 6ft High Speed HDMI Cable (see review here)
Here's a quick view of the Hama 1.8m High Speed HDMI Cable that we bought from a MediaMarkt retail store in Germany recently.
