The Nintendo Switch allows support of other USB Power Delivery chargers like the Google Universal Type-C Charger 60W that is shipped with the Google Chromebook Pixel (2015). Unfortunately, the Switch has problems charging with the Google charger as seen from the USB Power Delivery negotiations.

The USB Power Delivery Source Capabilities provided by the Google Universal Type-C Charger 60W offers a few levels of power for the Nintendo Switch: 15 watts (5 volts @ 3 amps), 36 watts (12 volts @ 3 amps), and 60 watts (20 volts @ 3 amps).

The Nintendo Switch from 7% charged battery first requests to pull 6 watts (12 volts @ 0.5 amps) from the Google charger and gets accepted.

Later on the Nintendo Switch decides to request a higher PDO of 36 watts (12 volts @ 3 amps) which the charger again complies.

Unfortunately, no current is being drawn by the Switch although it managed to establish USB Power Delivery power contracts with the Google charger while the Switch's battery is 7% full. It appears that there is a current spike which perhaps trips some over current protection circuits thus shutting down current and power altogether.

The Google Universal Type-C Charger 60W isn't able to charge the Nintendo Switch using USB Power Delivery.
