The Beats Pill+ is a nice looking portable speaker that sounds great. Now that Beats is part of Apple, for the moment there isn't much iPhone or iPod native support for High Resolution Audio. If you want to dive into the world of Hi-Res Audio, the Sony A Series High Resolution Walkman is a good place to start.
The quickest way to connect the Walkman to the Pill+ is just using a 3.5mm audio cable from the bottom of the Walkman to the back of the Pill+ behind the rubberized door flap. Next to the 3.5mm audio jack at the back of the Pill+ is a USB Type A port that can be used to charge the Walkman. Unfortunately, charging the Walkman over USB will create unwanted noise that is picked up on the audio cable so it's not recommended to use the USB and 3.5mm audio ports at the same time.
If you do want to charge your Walkman while playing music, you will need to use Bluetooth to connect the Walkman to the Pill+. To start the Bluetooth pairing process, press the b button on the Pill+ for a few seconds so that it starts slowly blinking. In the Walkman go to the Bluetooth settings to connect a new device. You should see the Pill+ and then select it to connect.
Once paired, you'll see the Bluetooth symbol show up next to the Beat Pill+ to denote that it's the active Bluetooth audio device.
It's easy to pair and play Hi-Res Audio from the Sony A Series High Resolution Walkman with the Beats Pill Plus. Ironically Sony has kept red as one of the color choices for the Walkman while the Beats Pill+ has shed the red in favor of more Apple-like whites and blacks. The Sony Walkman is a great complement to the iPhone for those that want to listen to Hi-Res Audio all day while conserving your iPhone's battery for Apps and calls.
