The Asus Q524UQ supports a Thunderbolt 3 technology which tunnels DisplayPort 1.2 over its USB Type-C connector. When connecting the Asus Q524UQ to a USB Type-C based LG 27 inch Class Ultra HD IPS 4K 27UD88-W Monitor using a compliance USB 3.1 Type-C to Type-C cable, we confirmed that the LG monitor correctly enumerates with the PC and can display 4K(3840 X 2160)@60hz resolution.
Unfortunately though, the Asus Q524UQ does not support charging over USB Type-C so it can't be charged by the LG 27 inch Class Ultra HD IPS 4K 27UD88-W Monitor. It's best to leave the AC power adapter next to your monitor since you'll need it to keep the Asus Q524UQ charged.
