The Mi Band 2 is the latest affordable fitness tracker from Chinese Electronics giant Xiaomi. Its predecessor, the Mi Band, was ridiculously cheap but lacked a display. A year on, Xiaomi has launched the Mi Band 2 with an OLED screen which displays date and time, heart rate tracking, sleep patterns and your activity throughout the day. The Mi Band 2 is powered by a 70 mAh cell where it can run up to 20 days of use on a single charge.
We purchased the Mi Band 2 from the Xiaomi online store on flash sale and received it in Bangalore within a day. (Click here for Amazon pricing in the US, here for Amazon India pricing, or here for Amazon UK pricing).
The Mi Band 2 comes in a simple but professionally eye-catching packaging design.
Once you open the box, you'll immediately see the Mi Band 2 centerpiece in the middle of the Box.
The Mi Band 2 comes with a USB cable for charging as well as a wrist band that you insert the Mi Band into.
To charge the Mi Band 2, you need to remove it from the wristband and plug it into the USB cable adapter. The Mi Band 2 doesn't come with its own power supply, but you can use any USB power charger or computer instead.
The capsule has its display on the top, with a big circular button that lets you check stats such as the number of steps you've taken, the distance you've covered, the calories you've burnt, etc.
The Mi Band 2 will also vibrate when you get calls, texts, and apps notifications.
Like the original Mi Band, the Mi Band 2 continues to push the down the pricing of fitness wearables to fit into everyone's budget.
