For long time Samsung Galaxy fans, Samsung Galaxy S7 righted a horrible wrong when the Samsung Galaxy S6 removed the ubiquitous SD card. Speculation was that Samsung was pushing its own agenda since Samsung supported UFS technology and the Galaxy S6 was the first phone that supported UFS to replace eMMC for internal memory. Samsung also had announced external UFS memory cards which looked similar enough to SD cards to cause potential confusion of the end consumer and it was expected that Samsung would at some point support UFS cards on its phones.
However, even Samsung couldn't ignore the demands of the market and the Galaxy S7 brought back the SD card even though Samsung claimed that SD card technology was a potential speed bottleneck in the phone's architecture.
To celebrate this event, once I received my Samsung Galaxy S7 from AT&T, I immediately opened the SIM card slot to pop in a Kingston microSDHC UHS-I U3 Action Card to add memory capacity for taking additional 4K videos and photos.
