Microsoft Keeps Fans Waiting for a Premium Gaming Experience with New Xbox One X

There will be a newer version of the Xbox One S by Microsoft which could be another attempt to upscale Sony's PlayStation consoles. Like the One S, the upcoming Microsoft Xbox One X game console will also offer HDR gameplay, Ultra HD video streaming and Blu-Ray support, but this time in full 4K format and should be faster and more powerful than the former. In fact users can look forward to 40% more power and a smaller console with the Xbox One X as claimed by Microsoft.

Microsoft has high hopes to rival Sony's current PlayStation 4 Pro when it releases the Xbox One X later this year. The Xbox would likely be expected to excel over the Playstation 4 Pro for its lack of a 4K Blu-Ray player.

A key feature of the Xbox One series is its compatibility with various 4K TV brands and models, which the Microsoft Xbox One X should also support. The new Xbox will offer the same connectors as its current Xbox One S sibling that include two HDMI ports, three USB 3.1 Gen 1 (5 Gb/s), a Gigabit Ethernet, IR output, and optical S/PDIF ports. The HDMI ports support 4K and HDR10 which consist of one HDMI 2.0 port that outputs to the TV and another HDMI 1.4 port that can be used to connect another 4K source to the TV through the Xbox.

Like the Xbox One S, the Microsoft Xbox One X will come equipped with a UHD Blu-ray disc player, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X audio, and a wireless game controller. Another big advantage of the Xbox One X is that it will support the same games as the Xbox One S which means users can still play their existing games on the new Xbox but with better graphics and performance.

The Microsoft Xbox One X will come with a newer and faster 2.3GHz 8-core CPU, 12GB GDDR5 graphics memory, and 6 Teraflop graphics processor. By comparison, the current Xbox One S has a lower end 1.75GHz 8-core CPU, 8GB DDR3 RAM, and 1.23 Teraflop GPU.

The Microsoft Xbox One X would be great especially for hardcore gamers who need high resolution gameplay as well as current Xbox One S owners who don't mind spending more to get the latest technology. Even more so since Microsoft has made it easy for Xbox One S users to use back the same setup on the new Xbox by supporting the same cables and accessories.

Next up we'll be taking a closer look at the Microsoft Xbox One X once it's available.
