Get Charged on Your Commute With the AUKEY CC-T7 Car Charger Supporting Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0

The AUKEY CC-T7 Car Charger one of the first car chargers on the market that supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0.

Although it has 2 USB Type-A ports like its cousin, the AUKEY PA-T16 Dual-Port USB Wall Charger, only the orange USB port supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 and the following power profiles: 6-6.5 volts @ 3 amps, 6.5-9 volts @ 2 amps, 9-12 volts @ 1.5 amps.  These power profiles are the same as what you find on the AUKEY PA-T16 Dual-Port USB Wall Charger.

The other green USB Type-A port is an AiPower Adaptive Charging port which for some reason AUKEY does not clearly label what type of power charging is supported.

The side of the AUKEY CC-T7 Car Charger clearly states that it supports 5 volts @ 3 amps and right below the green port is states 3 amps.

However, the Amazon description of the product claims that it only supports 2.4 amps and oddly there was no mention of the AUKEY CC-T7 Car Charger anywhere in the AUKEY car charger website.

AUKEY has more information here on AiPower but it still not very clear what technology advantages exist other than providing higher current to mobile devices than what is normally allowed in USB Type-A ports (which is found on other chargers as well).

We will be taking a closer look at the AUKEY CC-T7 Car Charger and how well it works with various phones out there in the next series of reviews.

If you are looking for an AUKEY car charger that supports USB Power Delivery technology, consider the AUKEY CC-Y7 Car Charger instead.
