The Huawei Honor Holly 2 Plus is a Low End Affordable Smartphone for the Indian Market

Huawei, the premier telecommunications company in China, is targeting the India market with the highly affordable Honor Holly 2 Plus.  This Huawei smartphone has a bare bones construction with a faux-metal frame which is actually all plastic. 

I bought this phone on Flipkart for Rs 8499/-  which was delivered on time.

The Honor Holly 2 Plus has a 5 inch HD (1280 x720 pixels) IPS LCD display with thick bezels, flanked by the ambient light and proximity sensor on the left and a 5MP front facing camera on the right.  The phone has a quad-core MediaTek MT6735P SoC and 2GB of RAM. This SoC packs in the same ARM Cortex-A53 CPU cores and Mali-T720 GPU as the regular MT6735, but just a bit slower.  The phone has 16 GB of internal storage which can be expanded by 128 GB using an external SD card.

The power charger has a 5 volts, 2 amps output but doesn't support Qualcomm Quick Charge.

The phone also supports reverse charging, which lets you charge other phones via an OTG adapter. You need to toggle this option in the battery settings, the phone doesn't support USB flash (pen) drives through an OTG adapter, which is a bit odd considering most Android smartphones do these days.

The rear side of the phone has a 13MP camera with LED flash.  

The right edge of the phone has a power/unlock button and volume rocker. The top edge of the device is pretty clean with the 3.5 mm headphone jack, while the bottom edge sports the micro-USB port flanked by the dual speaker grills.

On the connectivity front, Huawei does not disappoint with the Honor Holly 2 Plus. The Honor Holly 2 Plus supports 4G bands with a dual SIM setup, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS and a micro USB port for charging and data transfers. Powering it all is a 4000mAh battery.   The Honor Holly 2 Plus boots to Android 5.1 Lollipop with EMUI 3.1 Lite, which is a watered-down version of the EMUI user interface found in Huawei’s other mid-range and flagship phones.
