One of the nice features of USB Type-C docks like the Plugable USB-C Docking Station is they use USB Power Delivery to charge computers like the Dell XPS 15 9550 Laptop.  Using software from Granite River Labs, we can confirm that the Plugable USB-C Docking Station provides 60 watts (20 volts @ 3 amps) of charging to the Dell XPS 15 9550 Laptop when directly connected using a compliant USB Type-C to Type-C cable.
