The Plugable USB-C Docking Station with Power Delivery / Charging (Model UD-CA1) is a USB Type-C based Dock that charges your USB Type-C Device using USB Power Delivery while expanding your connectivity options.

Using software from Granite River Labs, we are able to see how the Plugable USB-C Docking Station communicates with the Microsoft Lumia 950.

We can see that the Plugable USB-C Docking Station offers to the Microsoft Lumia 950 are 15 watts (3 amps @ 5 volts), 36 watts (3 amps @ 12 volts), or 60 watts (3 amps @ 20 volts).

60 watts is perhaps too much for a phone so the Microsoft Lumia 950 only requests 15 watts (3 amps @ 5 volts) of charging.  We again looked at the signals through an oscilloscope to verify what the promised voltage and current was pulled.

The actual current pulled by the Microsoft Lumia 950 from the Plugable USB-C Docking Station is about 1.93 amps with the Microsoft Lumia 950.

  

The Microsoft Lumia 950 in powered on state takes around 3 hours to charge completely with the Plugable USB-C Docking Station.
