The travel-friendly Moshi USB-C to VGA Adapter is useful to link up a USB Type-C based mobile device to a legacy VGA monitor or projector when on the go. The Moshi adapter works by converting DisplayPort over USB Type-C of your mobile device to VGA, to connect to your monitor.
Unfortunately we found out that you can't use USB Type-C video adapters like the Moshi USB-C to VGA Adapter with the Nintendo Switch Console which supports DisplayPort 1.2 from its USB Type-C port.
When connecting the USB Type-C cable of the Moshi USB-C to VGA Adapter directly to the USB Type-C port of the Nintendo Switch Console and attaching a VGA cable from the Moshi VGA connector to an external VGA monitor, the monitor couldn't mirror the Switch Console's display.
Looking at the USB Power Delivery transactions below, the Nintendo Switch Console appears to be discovering the identity of a connected monitor and rejecting USB Type-C video adapters it does not recognize.
