The PowerGear USB-C 45 by Innergie is a convenient AC power adapter to bring on your travels which can be used to charge most USB Type-C devices supporting USB Power Delivery like the LG G6 phone.

To see what goes on when the Innergie PowerGear USB-C 45 charges the LG G6 on a fully depleted battery, we'll observe their USB Power Delivery communications.

The Innergie PowerGear USB-C 45 claims that it can support 4 different power profiles: 15 watts (5 volts @ 3 amps), 36 watts (12 volts @ 3 amps), 45 watts (15 volts @ 3 amps), and 45 watts (20 volts @ 2.25 amps) over USB Type-C. The LG G6 meanwhile only requests 15 watts (5 volts @ 3 amps) of charging from the power adapter.

We can also see from the power graph that the phone pulls an actual current of around 2.8 amps to charge at 14 watts (5 volts @ 2.8 amps) while on a fully drained battery. It takes about 15 seconds after power contract is established before current of 2.8 amps is reached (with current pulled being unstable before that).
