The Kingston DataTraveler microDuo 3C is great for moving large files like movies/videos to and from a compatible USB Type-C smartphone. Here we will use the LG G5 smartphone to see how it works with the Type-C USB storage drive.

The LG G5's Type-C connector is reversible so it doesn't matter which orientation you insert the Kingston DataTraveler microDuo 3C.

To start moving files, first go to the File manager on the home screen and select the file(s) you want to transfer. In this case, we selected a 1GB video file from the USB storage.

Tap on the top right 3 vertical dots and select 'Copy to phone'. You can then select the files you want to copy to the phone. Once selected, you will see 'Copy' on the bottom right. Tap on it to access the phone's root folder, which allows you to select the Album you want to copy your file to. For this case, I created a new album called 'Album_1'.

Once that is done, copying should start immediately and our 1GB video file was copied over within 2 minutes.

Vice versa, you can also move files from your LG G5 to the Kingston DataTraveler microDuo 3C. This way, you will get additional options for your file transfer.

We find moving files between these two devices quick and simple, which proves that both are highly compatible.
