In case you're wondering if the Samsung Gear Fit can be used with non-Samsung phones like the popular Redmi Note 4, lets see how this affordable tracker connects to the phone. Do note that because the Gear Fit Manager can only be downloaded from Samsung Apps which is not available on non-Samsung phones, you will need to install a third-party alternative like the Open Fit App which is available for free at Google Play.

On the Open Fit App, you will need to select 'Open Fit' when prompted to enable Notification Access.

To connect the App with the Samsung Gear Fit, make sure to turn on Bluetooth and select 'Scan' to locate the tracker. From 'Show Devices', you should see the tracker being identified as Gear Fit (5105) which you need to select. Then return to the Open Fit App's home screen and select 'Connect'.

The Samsung Gear Fit will proceed to generate a unique code and ask you to confirm the passkey on the App. You will also be requested for Bluetooth pairing with the passkey on your phone.

Once that is done, the App will establish the connection which you can verify by going through the phone's notification menu and see if there is an Open Fit notification showing the Gear Fit is connected. When confirmed, you will be able to enjoy using the Samsung Gear Fit from the App which works well with the Redmi Note 4 to enable you to track your fitness data, weather updates, messages, phone call notifications and more.
