The Motorola Moto e5 Play doesn't support any form of rapid charging over its micro-B connector but let's see how the phone charges using its own supplied micro-B based Motorola 10W USB Mobile Wall Charger.

When the Moto e5 Play was plugged in at 3% battery level to the 10W USB Mobile Wall Charger, it took nearly 10 seconds for the voltage to start up at 5 volts while quick current was initially pulled which peaked at around 1.5 amps. Both voltage and current then mostly stayed at around 5 volts and 1 amps for 5 watts of charging with several resets happening in between.

The Moto e5 Play was only observed to charge at 5W even though the charger promotes 10W charging for the phone. This low power level will only result in very slow charging for the phone using its own charger. Click here to download the trace captured by the GRL-A1 power analyzer to see more details.
