The Monoprice PD52U-2UT01 39W Dual USB Wall Charger is certified by USB-IF to support USB Power Delivery 2.0 for USB Type-C charging. However we observed Qualcomm Quick Charge negotiation when tested with the Xiaomi Mi 5 phone which doesn't support USB Power Delivery but only uses Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 for charging.
Once we connected both the Monoprice charger and Xiaomi phone over USB Type-C, we could see the voltage initiated at 5 volts as the phone started pulling initial current. The phone was then observed to trickle charge over bouncing voltage and current close to 40 seconds. The voltage and current then finally settle out for charging to happen to around 12.3 watts (8.8 volts @ 1.4 amps). The Monoprice PD52U-2UT01 39W Dual USB Wall Charger can provide maximum power that the Mi 5's own 12W based Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 charger can deliver to the phone which shows the Monoprice charger well supports Qualcomm Quick Charge in addition to USB Power Delivery.
