Sony, Philips, and other companies have gone Android for their smart TV's but they may be difficult to use for the average user.  Vizio's M-Series 4K Ultra HD Smart TV has limited smart TV functions but it's a lot easier to use for those interested in basic functionality.  Vizio has always been very aggressive on their pricing and some expert users may want to take advantage of this but add more smart TV features.  The ASUS Google Nexus Player is a cost effective way to add more advanced Android TV functionality and works great with the Vizio TV.
