You can connect the Huawei Google Nexus 6P directly to the Apple MacBook (Early 2015) using a USB Type-C to Type-C cable.  The MacBook will not only charge the Nexus 6P (although not at the fastest rate), but you can use Android File Transfer to transfer files.
