The SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick can work with the LG G5 but you need to avoid certain pitfalls when using it.

To use the SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick with the LG G5, first go to Google Play to download and install the SanDisk Connect Drive App.

You first need to charge the stick by plugging into the a computer or AC power adapter for a couple hours, and turn on the SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick by pressing the button on its side.  Make sure the stick is turned on, it's not plugged into a PC or Mac.  If you don't do any of these things, you'll see some of the screenshots below.

Once the SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick is turned on correctly, you'll see the screen below asking how to connect to the stick.  You can either choose to directly connect the LG G5 to the SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick over WI-FI (and lose Internet access) or have the LG G5 go through a local WI-FI router to access both the Internet and SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick.

If you choose to have the LG G5 directly access the drive SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick, the App will automatically drop your current WI-FI connection and join the WI-FI network that the SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick has created.

The App provides some nice tips and videos on how to use it.

If you plug the SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick into a PC or Mac, the App will report that the Wireless Stick is in USB mode and you can't access the stick.

Once in USB mode, the App gets a bit confused and after you unplug the stick from the computer's USB port, it's best to restart the App in order to access the stick again over Wi-FI.

It's easy to transfer files from the LG G5 to the SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick as per the screenshots below.

You can also easily create new folders using the App.

Once you choose the destination to transfer the files to, file transfers are quick but not as fast as using USB to transfer.  Also I've seen problems with the App hanging when trying to transfer very large number of files.

Instead of directly connecting the LG G5 to the SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick, you can set up the SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick to connect to your local Internet router.  This allows you to then connect the LG G5 back to the router to access both the Internet and the SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick.  In general, this is the more convenient mode of connection that I'd recommend using since this also reduces the risk that people can access the stick directly over WI-FI if you forget to secure the stick's WI-FI network.

The SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick can work well with the LG G5 but be sure to avoid the pitfalls outlined above so that you can have a more pleasant user experience.
