How to Access Google, Gmail, and Facebook in China and Break Through the Great Firewall

Those that visit China know it's very challenging to access many popular Internet services from Google and Facebook that many take granted and use frequently outside of China.  If you are fortunately to have a corporate account with VPN, that's one way to solve the problem but that option isn't full proof either.  The easiest way to get around China's VPN and access all your favorite services is to use Project Fi on your LG Google Nexus 5X or Huawei Google Nexus 6P.

Just use your phone like you normally would to access Google Maps although it might not be as filled with as much details as the local Chinese map sites like from Baidu.

What's really convenient is the ability to do Google searches and access Facebook.

Don't expect the speed to be nearly as fast as what you get in the US but occasionally I was able to find LTE access in parts of Shanghai for faster access.
