LG 27 inch Class Ultra HD IPS 4K Monitor- The First 4K Monitor with USB Type-C

USB has long tried to support video through USB-to-graphics converter products, which require special drivers and can often tax your PC's system resources. Now, with USB Type-C technology, both USB and DisplayPort can share the same USB Type-C connector, making it a lot simpler to connect a monitor directly to a USB connector.

The LG 27 inch Class Ultra HD IPS 4K 27UD88-W Monitor is the world's first display to take advantage of this new USB Type-C interface.

The LG 27 inch Class Ultra HD IPS 4K 27UD88-W Monitor comes with an AC Power Adapter, CD-ROM, an HDMI cable, a DisplayPort cable, a USB Type-C to Type-C cable, and a USB Type-C to USB Type-A cable.

You can use the USB Type-C to Type-C cable to connect the LG monitor to a Thunderbolt 3-enabled PC, like the Dell XPS 13 9350 or Dell XPS 15 9550, the Chromebook Pixel (2015), or the Apple MacBook (Early 2015).

The USB Type-C to USB Type-A cable can be used to connect the monitor to a PC or Mac's USB Type-A port, allowing the PC or Mac to access USB devices that you connect to the USB Type-A ports on the monitor.

The back of the monitor is white, compared to the front which is black, and the curved base which is silver.

All the interface ports of the LG 27 inch Class Ultra HD IPS 4K 27UD88-W Monitor are on the back and include two USB Type-A, one USB Type-C, one standard DisplayPort 1.2, and two HDMI 2.0 supporting 4K@60Hz.

The USB Type-C port can be used to charge or power other devices with USB Type-C ports, using the included USB Type-C to USB Type-C cable or Belkin's certified USB Type-C to Type-C cable. If these devices support DisplayPort over USB Type-C, you can also display on the monitor while being powered by it. If these devices only support USB over USB type-C, the monitor acts like a USB hub, which can connect those devices with other devices that you attach to the monitor's two USB Type-A ports.

Note that the LG 27 inch Class Ultra HD IPS 4K 27UD88-W Monitor needs to be powered by the external AC power adapter. It can't be powered by the USB Type-C port.

The LG 27 inch Class Ultra HD IPS 4K 27UD88-W Monitor menu system is straightforward and simple.

The LG monitor also supports split screen so you can make use of the 4k resolution and turn the monitor into 4 different displays on the same screen.  You can also take advantage of LG's Dual Link feature, which allows two different devices to display on two separate parts of the same screen.

The LG 27 inch Class Ultra HD IPS 4K 27UD88-W Monitor is packed full of connectivity features and supports Ultra High Definition 4K@60Hz, allowing you to connect to most older devices as well as the latest 4K HDMI sources; and to USB Type-C gadgets rolling into stores.

The USB Type-C port on this product stopped working after 3 years.
