More Intel Kaby Lake based HP Notebooks Coming out with Thunderbolt 3

HP was one of the early adopters of Thunderbolt technology in Windows PC's and when Thunderbolt 3 came out, released products like the HP Spectre 13.3, HP Spectre x360, and the HP Elitebook Folio Notebook PC (W8H05PA) using the Intel Skylake processor platform.

With Intel 7th Generation Kaby Lake Intel Core processors rolling out, at CES 2017, HP announced a couple new new Kaby Lake based PC's that support Thunderbolt 3.

The Spectre x360 (2nd Generation 2017) is a follow on to the HP Spectre x360 which adds increased battery life by 34%, a nearly borderless 4K display as well as two new front facing speakers.  It has a single Thunderbolt 3 USB Type-C port which supports Thunderbolt 3 (40 Gb/s), USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10 Gb/s), DisplayPort 1.2, and USB Power Delivery based charging in both directions.  The EliteBook x360 1030 G2 also has another USB Type-C port that just supports USB 3.1 Gen 1 (5 Gb/s), DisplayPort 1.2, and USB Power Delivery based charging in both directions.  The EliteBook x360 1030 G2 also supports HDMI 1.4, a USB 3.1 Gen 1 (5 Gb/s) Type-A port, SD card, WI-FI (802.11ac), and Bluetooth 4.

The EliteBook x360 1030 G2 is the commercial version of the Spectre and is a convertible notebook geared towards enterprise users.  It has a single Thunderbolt 3 USB Type-C port which supports Thunderbolt 3 (40 Gb/s), USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10 Gb/s), DisplayPort 1.2, and USB Power Delivery based charging in both directions.  In additional to Thunderbolt 3, the EliteBook x360 1030 G2 also supports just about any interface a corporate user would be interested in like HDMI 1.4, USB 3.1 Gen 1 (5 Gb/s) Type-A ports, SD card, WI-FI (802.11ac), and Bluetooth 4.

Thunderbolt 3 continues its adoption across all the major PC makers including HP, Dell, Lenovo, Asus, Samsung, MSI, Gigabyte, Toshiba, etc.
