The Microsoft Surface 3's connectivity options are great so it's a shame when devices, especially popular ones like the Fitbit Charge HR, don't work with the Surface 3.
To use the Fitbit Charge HR on Windows devices, you need to first go to the Windows Store to download and install the Fitbit App.
After you open the Fitbit App, you can login to your Fitbit account or create a new account.
To connect to the Fitbit Charge HR, you need to insert the Fitbit Base Station USB dongle into the Microsoft Surface 3.
Without it, the Fitbit App will show that the Fitbit Base Station is disconnected.
Once you connect the Fitbit Base Station USB dongle to the Surface 3, the Fitbit Charge HR App will no longer show that the Base Station is disconnected. Unfortunately the Fitbit Charge HR which was paired to a different device to the same account, is shown as Can't Be Found.
If you try to sync the Fitbit Charge HR through the Fitbit App, the App will ask you to pair the Charge HR through Windows Bluetooth settings.
Unfortunately, if you try to add a new Bluetooth device through Windows, the Fitbit Charge HR is nowhere to be found, with or without the Fitbit Base Station connected.
