When testing various Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 enabled AC power adapters with the HTC 10 while the HTC 10's battery was 5% full, we found a range of behaviors where the HTC 10 charges at 13.5 watts (9 volts @ 1.5 amps) with the LG G5 power chargers while getting 12.1 watts (7.6 volts @ 1.6 amps) with the HTC 10 charger, and just 5.1 watts (5.1 volts @ 1 amps) with the Xiaomi Mi 5 charger.

We then tested the HTC 10 with the Tronsmart Presto 12000mA/h External Battery Charger which also supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology.  With the portable Tronsmart Presto, power is coming directly from its battery rather than through an AC power connection.

The Tronsmart Presto supports various voltage and current charging combinations using Qualcomm Quick Charge: 5-6.5 volts @ 3 amps, 6.5-9 volts @ 2 amps, 9-12 volts @ 1.5 amps.

With the HTC 10 having a similar 5% charge level, the Tronsmart Presto provided 4.7 watts (5.1 volts @ .93 amps) which was less than the 13.5 watts performance of the LG G5 charger, the 12.1 watts performance of the HTC 10 charger, and the 5.1 watts performance of the Xiaomi Mi 5 charger.

The Tronsmart Presto 12000mA/h External Battery Charger charges the HTC 10 within a couple hours so it's very possible that during the charging process the Tronsmart Presto starts to provide higher levels of power to quickly charge the HTC 10.
