The Moto Z Droid supports USB Power Delivery which enables it to pull 27 watts from chargers like the Verizon Vehicle Charger with Fast Charge Technology. But what happens when you try to charge it from other USB Power Delivery enabled products like the Apple MacBook (Early 2016).
Once we connected the Moto Z Droid to the Apple MacBook (Early 2016) we can see using software from Granite River Labs that the Apple MacBook (Early 2016) declares it can provide 5 volts @ 1.5 amps.
The Moto Z Droid then requests 5 volts @ 1.5 amps (7.5 watts) which provides a decent level of charging but certainly not to the level that would be considered needing for rapid charging nowadays.
