The SanDisk 64GB Dual Drive USB-C Flash Drive is pre-formatted as ExFAT for the Apple MacBook (Early 2015) but that doesn't mean you can't use it on Android phones like the LG Google Nexus 5X.  Just insert the drive into the Nexus 5X and you'll be notified that the USB drive is unsupported.  Just select the notification and proceed to format as a portable storage (which will erase the drive and reformat to MS-DOS (FAT32) which can be read by Android phones, Mac's, and Windows PC's.

Once formatted, you can see the SanDisk 64GB Dual Drive USB-C Flash Drive again in the notifications but this time you can select Explore to copy files between the drive and the Nexus 5X.  Note that the Nexus 5X doesn't allow you to move files, only copy.

When you have finished transferring the files, you should go back to notifications and select Eject before removing the SanDisk 64GB Dual Drive USB-C Flash Drive from the LG Google Nexus 5X.  Since the LG Google Nexus 5X only supports USB 2.0 (480 Mb/s) link speeds, the SanDisk 64GB Dual Drive USB-C Flash Drive will also be limited to operating at USB 2.0 link speeds.
