After having a lot of instability problems with the Dell XPS 12 9250 2-in-1 Laptop, we sent the XPS 12 to the Microsoft Store in Santa Clara, CA to get fixed.
Unfortunately, when the Microsoft made a clean reinstall of Windows 10 on the Dell XPS 12 9250 2-in-1 Laptop, the Thunderbolt software and drivers were no longer installed making Thunderbolt not working on the Thunderbolt 3 ports.
The best way to reinstall Thunderbolt software on the Dell XPS 12 9250 2-in-1 Laptop is to go to the Dell website which will automatically download the missing drivers, firmware, and Thunderbolt software needed to active the Thunderbolt 3 port.
After everything is downloaded and installed, you will need to restart the Dell XPS 12 9250 2-in-1 Laptop to finish updating the BIOS and Thunderbolt controller firmware.
