My first attempt to use USB to play content on the Sony 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV with Android was a complete failure.

On my second attempt, I switched to the SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive 3.0.  This time the Sony TV could recognize the drive and you could see the image thumbnail from the video content shown in the Video App.

However, when trying to play video all you get is are just some green bars.

After this fruitless experience, it was time to move on and try to find another way to play content.
