Although Samsung has stopped using MHL on its new line of Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, and S6 Edge Plus phones, Sony Xperia phones like the Z3+, Z4, and Z5 still continue to use MHL.

Unlike using Miracast to wirelessly display where you need to go through different menus to start your mirroring your screen, to start MHL all you need to do is plug a MHL cable between your phone and your TV or display.

 

The Xperia also has a MHL settings menu that pops up after you connect the cable.  This "menu" just gives you more information on how to set up MHL and use its remote control features.  In fact, you don't really need to set anything up to enjoy using MHL.

Playing video over MHL from the Xperia Z3+, Z4, and Z5 works great with the Samsung B350 LED Monitor unlike trying to play video over MHL to a Samsung Smart LED TV.
