The Apple 29W USB-C Power Adapter was originally released to support charging for the Apple MacBook (Early 2015) using USB Power Delivery technology. To see if it can also be used to charge certain Windows PC's like the Mi Notebook Air 13.3", we connect the charger to the USB Type-C connector of the Mi Notebook.

From the USB Power Delivery negotiations, we can see that the Apple 29W USB-C Power Adapter supports 12 watts (5 volts @ 2.4 amps) and 29.6 watts (14.8 volts @ 2 amps) power profiles.

However the Mi Notebook Air 13.3" only requests to pull 5 watts (5 volts @ 1 amps) from the charger which it also complies.

In fact, we have observed from the power graph below that the Mi Notebook Air 13.3" is not being charged by the Apple 29W USB-C Power Adapter  over USB Power Delivery. Despite the power contract being established, no current is being drawn by the PC from the charger.
