Since the LG G5 supports both USB Power Delivery and Qualcomm Quick Charge technology for fast charging, the phone should also work with an equally compatible external power supply like the BatPower PD6 Power Bank. Let's see how well the phone performs with the orange Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 port of the power bank when plugged in.

At zero charge we can see that the LG G5 begins pulling around 9 watts (5 volts @ 1.8 amps) which then trickle charges for a short while before charging at around 10.1 watts (9.2 volts @ 1.1 amps). When reaching 40 seconds, the power drawn increases to about 16.4 watts (9.1 volts @ 1.8 amps) while the phone is off. The LG G5 is actually charging at more than 15 watts that the BatPower PD6 claims to support for Qualcomm Quick Charge which should not be happening.

This 16.4 watts is much higher compared to what the phone pulled over USB Power Delivery as seen here. In fact this power is also higher than what the phone mostly gets from other Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 based chargers like the AUKEY  CC-T7 Car Charger (this review) and Tronsmart Presto (click here).
