Plugging in the Ventev Wallport pd1300 Wall Charger directly to the Nintendo Switch Console, we'll see how well the Switch charges using USB Power Delivery from a fully drained battery.

The Ventev Wallport pd1300 Wall Charger starts communicating over USB Power Delivery with the Nintendo Switch Console by advertising its source capabilities of 15 watts (5 volts @ 3 amps), 27 watts (9 volts @ 3 amps), 45 watts (15 volts @ 3 amps), and 45 watts (20 volts @ 2.25 amps).

The Switch Console at first requests 7.5 watts (15 volts @ 0.5 amps) from the Ventev charger which it accepts.

After a while we can see the Ventev charger complies to the Switch Console's request to charge faster with a higher 45 watts (15 volts @ 3 amps).

From a depleted battery charge, the Nintendo Switch Console starts off pulling current around 0.6 to 1 amps at 15 volts without any active gameplay (the Console is just left alone being charged without the Joy-Con Controllers being attached).

When the Switch Console is turned on and attached with the left and right Joy-Con Controllers, the Console pulls more power at the 15 to 21 watts range to support the Joy Con controllers without any active gameplay.

The Nintendo Switch Console can charge well with the external Ventev Wallport pd1300 Wall Charger which performs similarly to the Nintendo Switch AC Adapter as seen in this review.
