Wi-Fi has been around for so long that you take it for granted that everything should just work. Unfortunately, with the NETGEAR Orbi our list of Wi-Fi compatibility issues grow where we had issues setting up Google Home using the LG G6 and we also saw issues with using Nest Protect. This time around, we saw compatibility issues with the Samsung 32-Inch Class UN32M4500 Smart LED TV (2017 Model).

While the Samsung 32-Inch Class UN32M4500 Smart LED TV (2017 Model) can initially connect to the NETGEAR Orbi, when the TV is turned off, after a while the TV will lose network connection with the NETGEAR Orbi even though the AC power is plugged into the TV.

To reset the network connection, you need to go to the TV's Network Status screen where it will show that there is no Wi-Fi connection between the Samsung 32-Inch Class UN32M4500 Smart LED TV (2017 Model) and NETGEAR Orbi.

We had to go through the TV's network setup process again to connect to the NETGEAR Orbi.

We can see that the Wi-Fi signal strength is strong from the TV.

Once the Wi-Fi connection is re-established, we can again use Apps like YouTube to watch on the Samsung 32-Inch Class UN32M4500 Smart LED TV (2017 Model).

Using a Wi-Fi Analyzer App on the Huawei P10, we can confirm that the Wi-Fi signal strength from the NETGEAR Orbi is quite high at the TV's location.

The NETGEAR Orbi promises more coverage around the home through satellite Orbi units but it's unfortunate seeing these Wi-Fi compatibility issues.
