The Nubia Z17 phone supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ technology which means that it can be charged from both USB Power Delivery and Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 chargers. Let's see how well it performs with a USB Power Delivery based Apple charger like the Apple 29W USB-C Power Adapter that was originally made for the Apple MacBook (Early 2015).
From the USB Power Delivery negotiations, we can see that the Apple 29W USB-C Power Adapter repeatedly displays 12 watts (5 volts @ 2.4 amps) and 29.6 watts (14.8 volts @ 2 amps) power profiles.
At 9% battery, the Nubia Z17 requests to pull an initial 12 watts (5 volts @ 2.4 amps) from the Apple charger which it then accepts.
We further confirm that the Nubia Z17 successfully charges with the Apple 29W USB-C Power Adapter over USB Power Delivery to pull around 12.2 watts (5.1 volts @ 2.4 amps) from the Apple charger when the phone's battery is at 9%. Note this power is lower compared to when using the phone's own Qualcomm Quick Charge based charger.
