Through a single USB Type-C cable, you can display your 13" MacBook Pro (Late 2016) on the LG 27 inch Class Ultra HD IPS 4K 27UD88-W Monitor, while charging your MacBook and accessing to multiple USB devices at the same time.

When Apple launched its new 13" MacBook Pro (Late 2016), the LG UltraFine 5K Display and LG UltraFine 4K Display have been touted as the perfect companions for the MacBook. However, the LG 27 inch Class Ultra HD IPS 4K 27UD88-W Monitor, which is LG's first USB Type-C based 4K monitor is also compatible with the 13" MacBook Pro (Late 2016) when connected directly using a USB 3.1 Type-C to Type-C cable.

Like the LG UltraFine 5K Display and LG UltraFine 4K Display, the LG 27 inch Class Ultra HD IPS 4K 27UD88-W Monitor supports USB, DisplayPort and USB Power Delivery over the same USB Type-C connector.

By plugging in the LG 27 inch Class Ultra HD IPS 4K 27UD88-W Monitor to the 13" MacBook Pro (Late 2016), you can see that the monitor enumerates correctly and showing the display resolution. Select the 3840 x 2160 display resolution to enable the 4K resolution. This confirms visually that the LG 27 inch Class Ultra HD IPS 4K 27UD88-W Monitor is displaying at a 4K resolution from the 13" MacBook Pro (Late 2016)

We also verified the USB hub from the LG 27 inch Class Ultra HD IPS 4K 27UD88-W Monitor was enumerating correctly on the 13" MacBook Pro (Late 2016),

The LG 27 inch Class Ultra HD IPS 4K 27UD88-W Monitor is also charging the 13" MacBook Pro (Late 2016),

The fact that the 13" MacBook Pro (Late 2016) is able to support the LG 27 inch Class Ultra HD IPS 4K 27UD88-W Monitor is excellent, which further extends its compatibility with USB Type-C displays.
