While the Apple 15" MacBook Pro (Late 2016) charges best with its own Apple 87W USB-C Power Adapter, the charger can also work with Windows based PC's like the USB Power Delivery enabled LG gram Touch 15" Laptop (2016) which has a USB Type-C port that supports USB 3.1 Gen 1, USB Power Delivery, and DisplayPort. We will observe how well the LG gram Touch 15" Laptop (2016) supports the Apple 87W USB-C Power Adapter  using USB Power Delivery.

Looking at the USB Power Delivery protocol negotiations, we can see the Apple 87W USB-C Power Adapter offers only a single 12 watts (5 volts @ 2.4 amps) power profile to the LG gram Touch 15" Laptop (2016). The notebook requests only 0.5 watts (5 volts @ 0.1 amps) from the charger which it accepts.

The Apple 87W USB-C Power Adapter later advertises not only the 12 watts (5 volts @ 2.4 amps) it initially declared but also two other power profiles : 27 watts (9 volts @ 3 amps) and 60 watts (20 volts @ 3 amps). The LG gram Touch 15" Laptop (2016) follows up by requesting to pull 20 watts (20 volts @ 2 amps) which the charger complies.

While the LG gram Touch 15" Laptop (2016) is being charged at a battery near full, we can see that the current drawn is around .1 amps at 20 volts.

It's great to see a non Apple based PC like the LG gram Touch 15" Laptop (2016) also enjoys fast charging with the Apple 87W USB-C Power Adapter over USB Power Delivery.
