The Redmi Note 4 phone supports Google Cast for its wireless display technology which means it is able to use the Google Chromecast (2013) with Smart TVs but not recommended with the Android-based Sony Bravia 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV as demonstrated here.

We connected the Google Chromecast (2013) to the Sony 4K TV's HDMI port and powered on the Chromecast by attaching the USB cable to the TV's USB port. We also made sure that the TV has been powered up, and the HDMI input of the TV is the same port that we connected the Chromecast to.

When we bought the Redmi Note 4 in China, it didn't have Google Apps pre-installed, so we had to activate 'Unknown sources' through Settings -> Additional settings -> Privacy to download the Google Play Store App. From there, we managed to download and install the App from the MI App Store.

Once we set up the Google Chromecast (2013) and connected the Chromecast and Redmi Note 4 over Wi-Fi, we downloaded and installed the Google Home App from Google Play on the phone. Note that Google has changed the name of the Google Cast App to 'Google Home'.

We then enabled the App to start searching for the Chromecast using the top right menu icon -> Cast screen / audio -> CAST SCREEN / AUDIO.

Once found, we selected our Chromecast model to start the casting connection process. Somehow the phone repeatedly got disconnected right after the casting connection was established. Although the Redmi Note 4 is unable to use the Google Chromecast (2013) with the Sony Bravia 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV with Android, it can work well with the TV using Miracast as seen here.
