The Apple 15" MacBook Pro (Late 2016) can serve as a power bank for your Google Pixel phone in case it runs out of battery and there's just no access to an AC power output. Since the Google Pixel supports USB Power Delivery charging over its USB Type-C connector, you can use a USB Type-C to Type-C cable to connect between the Mac and phone for a quick charge (assuming you're willing to exploit the Mac's battery charge provided the AC power is not plugged).

Note that the Apple 15" MacBook Pro (Late 2016) supports Thunderbolt 3 on its USB Type-C ports, meaning that normally they can charge a peripheral using USB Power Delivery, providing 15 watts (5 volts @ 3 amps) of charging.

After connecting both the Apple 15" MacBook Pro (Late 2016) and Google Pixel, we selected the option to charge the phone under the phone's USB charging settings. Note at the time the phone was 3% charged but the Mac's battery was 31% full.

We can see from the USB Power Delivery negotiations that the Apple 15" MacBook Pro (Late 2016) initially declares a single power profile of 15 watts (5 volts @ 3 amps) to start communications with the Google Pixel.

The Google Pixel proceeds to request and establish this 15 watts (5 volts @ 3 amps) power contract with the Mac.

In between negotiations, we also observe the Apple 15" MacBook Pro (Late 2016) requesting power sink and source capabilities from the Google Pixel as well as data role swaps between both the phone and Mac.

As observed, the Google Pixel from 3% battery is able to get around 15 watts (5 volts @ 3 amps) of charging with the 31% charged Apple 15" MacBook Pro (Late 2016) while the phone is off. This 15W is also a lot higher than what the phone actually received from its own charger.
