The Tesla Model X may not be installed with the Apple Lightning connector stand that comes with the car in the Model X Phone Adapter box. For some reason, Tesla doesn't provide instructions to its users for how to install this stand which is useful if you want to dock your iPhone when driving the car.

To install the Lightning connector stand, you need to access the center console between the front seats and remove the rubber mat at the bottom of the console.

You will then need to use a screwdriver to unscrew the two screws holding down the latch which the Lightning connector stand will be replacing.

Once the screws are removed, you can pull up the latch and replace it with the Lightning connector stand and put the screws back in.

Note the Lightning connector stand needs to inserted at the correct angle in order for it to fit flush with the surface, which can take a bit of trial and error to get right.
