The USB Power Delivery based AC Power Adapter that comes with the BatPower PD6 can be used to charge other USB Type-C devices even if they don't support USB Power Delivery like the Huawei P9 phone.

When connecting the BatPower PD6's AC Adapter (through the BatPower round to rectangle connector adapter and BatPower USB Type-C Adapter) to the Huawei P9, we can see the constant advertising of the AC Adapter's USB Power Delivery profiles- 15 watts (5 volts @ 3 amps), 27 watts (9 volts @ 3 amps), 36 watts (12 volts @ 3 amps), 45 watts (15 volts @ 3 amps) and 60 watts (20 volts @ 3 amps). Note the 90W profile is not supported by the AC Adapter as stated on its chassis.

We can also see that the Huawei P9 is not responding to any of these power profiles given that the phone doesn't support USB Power Delivery.

The Huawei P9 just simply pulls around 2.6 watts (5.1 volts @ 0.5 amps) at the beginning before eventually drawing 10.2 watts (5.1 volts @ 2 amps) with the phone's battery being fully drained.

Even though no USB Power Delivery contract is established, the BatPower PD6's AC Adapter can still charge USB Type-C phones like the Huawei P9  at the maximum 10 watts power that the phone can draw.
