The AUKEY CC-Y7 Car Charger can be used to conveniently charge most USB Power Delivery enabled devices while on the road. We’ll see how the AUKEY charger uses USB Power Delivery to charge the Google Pixel phone on a fully drained battery.

From the USB Power Delivery negotiations, AUKEY continuously advertises its source capabilities of 15 watts (5 volts @ 3 amps), 27 watts (9 volts @ 3 amps), and 36 watts (12 volts @ 3 amps) over its USB Type-C port. Note these power profiles contradict the 15 watts (5 volts @ 3 amps), 22.5 watts (9 volts @ 2.5 amps), and 24 watts (12 volts @ 2 amps) as seen on the charger's casing.

Multiple hard resets are also seen to occur while the charger repeatedly declares its source capabilities which is unusual.

After some time, the Google Pixel only starts to requests 15 watts (5 volts @ 3 amps) from the charger which it accepts.

On a fully depleted battery, the Google Pixel starts pulling around 5 watts (5 volts @ 1 amps) but stops charging after 10 seconds. It then resumes charging after a while to draw about 14 watts (5 volts @ 2.8 amps) from the AUKEY CC-Y7 Car Charger

It takes about 15 seconds for the Google Pixel to eventually pull the expected power from the AUKEY charger.
