The Designo MX27UC Eye Care Monitor by ASUS supports USB Type-C technology which means both USB and DisplayPort not only share the same USB Type-C connector but it also can be used to charge or power other devices with USB Type-C ports such as the Lenovo Yoga 920 (2-in-1) hybrid notebook. Here we see how well the Designo MX27UC Eye Care Monitor supplies power over USB Power Delivery 2.0 when plugged in to a Thunderbolt 3 based USB-C port on the Yoga 920 (2-in-1).

While the Yoga 920 (2-in-1) is 3% charged, we connected the USB Type-C port of the Designo MX27UC Eye Care Monitor with the upstream Yoga notebook. We could see the Yoga 920 (2-in-1) pulled up to 46 watts of stable charging with the Designo MX27UC Eye Care Monitor. Click here to download the trace captured by the GRL-A1 power analyzer to see more details on how the Designo MX27UC Eye Care Monitor charged the Yoga 920 (2-in-1) at 3% battery charge.

While the Yoga 920 (2-in-1) can get a faster charging speed using the Lenovo's 65W supplied charger accessory, the notebook will still enjoy decent charging from the Designo MX27UC Eye Care Monitor just in case it's missing its own charger and needs a quick charge.
