By attaching the Google Universal 22.5 W Dual Port USB Type-C Charger to the USB Type-C charging port of the Samsung's DeX Station, both of which support USB Power Delivery technology, we'll see how well this Google charger can deliver power to the DeX.

After docking the Samsung Galaxy S8 on to the DeX Station and connecting to a HDMI TV from the DeX, we then plug in the Google Universal 22.5 W Dual Port USB Type-C Charger directly to the DeX Station using a USB Type-C to Type-C cable.

Although the Google Universal 22.5 W Dual Port USB Type-C Charger supports the USB Power Delivery specification, it doesn't use a USB Power Delivery controller which results in no active USB Power Delivery protocol negotiation between the charger and the DeX Station.

When observed over the Granite River Labs GRL-USB-PD-A1 test software, the DeX Station only pulls about a mere 0.56 watts (5.1 volts @ 0.11 amps) from the Google Universal 22.5 W Dual Port USB Type-C Charger while simultaneously attached with the Samsung Galaxy S8 and using the HDMI port.  This is also similar to how the DeX charges over the Samsung 15W Adaptive Fast Charging technology under the same conditions

Given such low power, we do not recommend using the Google Universal 22.5 W Dual Port USB Type-C Charger with the DeX Station when docked with the Samsung Galaxy S8 and actively supporting HDMI.
