The Cable Matters Pro Series USB-C Multiport Adapter was designed to work with Google notebook PC's that support DisplayPort/HDMI or USB Power Delivery/Thunderbolt 3 technologies over USB Type-C like the Google Pixelbook series and Google Pixel Slate

When connected to the PC, the Cable Matters Pro Series USB-C Multiport Adapter provides the PC with a total of five connectivity ports comprising one HDMI 2.0, one USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10 Gb/s) Type-C, one Ethernet and two USB 2.0 (480 Mb/s) Type-A ports. 

Here we take a closer look at the Cable Matters Pro Series USB-C Multiport Adapter which comes with a tethered magnetic USB Type-C cable. You can plug the USB Type-C cable into the USB Type-C or Thunderbolt port on the PC for USB Power Delivery 3.0 charging up to 80 watts and DisplayPort 1.2 video.

The Cable Matters Pro Series USB-C Multiport Adapter has also claimed to be Google standards compliance certified.

The Cable Matters Pro Series USB-C Multiport Adapter offers a single HDMI 2.0 port which supports 4K@60Hz video when connected to a compatible 4K or HD TV or display. If the computing device supports DisplayPort over USB Type-C and/or Thunderbolt 3, you can also link up an external 4K monitor from the HDMI port to output video up to 4K@60Hz resolution depending on the capability of the computing device and monitor. 

The Cable Matters Pro Series USB-C Multiport Adapter also comes with a Ethernet port supporting 480 Mb/s speeds.

You can connect your PC's Type-C based AC adapter to the USB Type-C receptacle of the Cable Matters Pro Series USB-C Multiport Adapter so that power can flow through to the PC.

The hub's USB Type-A ports allow any USB data peripherals like USB storage drives to be connected which should be accessible by the PC.
