When purchasing a new Apple Watch, be careful of which model you are choosing, especially if you are not buying from an Apple Store or retailer where someone can assist you on the sale or if you are buying used. Apple is no longer selling the original Apple Watch Series 1 on their online store while Amazon is not yet selling the Apple Watch Series 2 model. At Best Buy, the Apple Watch Series 2 was not available for store pickup during the 2016 holidays season in many locations.
Depending on the store you are in, it may not be to clear what version of the Apple Watch being offered.
