The Anker PowerPort+ 5 USB-C (click here for Amazon pricing) can be used for charging multiple devices and the USB Type-C port works well over USB Power Delivery with the Samsung Galaxy S8 phone.

We can see what's going on between the Anker charger and the Samsung phone through their USB Power Delivery negotiations. Anker claims to provide an initial 15 watts (5 volts @ 3 amps), 27 watts (9 volts @ 3 amps), and 45 watts (15 volts @ 3 amps) to charge the Samsung phone from a 64% full battery.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 follows up to request 15 watts (5 volts @ 3 amps) from the charger which it accepts.

When Anker offers an additional 45 watts (20 volts @ 2.25 amps) on top of the initial 15 watts (5 volts @ 3 amps), 27 watts (9 volts @ 3 amps), and 45 watts (15 volts @ 3 amps) power profiles, the Samsung Galaxy S8 still remains with 15 watts (5 volts @ 3 amps) which the charger complies.

While the Samsung Galaxy S8 is being charged on a 64% full battery, the phone pulls around 15 watts (5 volts @ 3 amps) in the first 10 minutes, after which the current level decreases gradually to settle at 0.5 amps at 5 volts (2.5 watts).

We can confirm that the Samsung Galaxy S8 works well over USB Power Delivery using an alternative charger like the Anker PowerPort+ 5 USB-C.
