While using the Intel NUC6i7KYK NUC Kit, we found at one point the Thunderbolt 3 enabled USB Type-C port stopped working and unable to recognize any Thunderbolt 3 devices plugged in.  One trick that we tried that actually worked is as follows (please use caution if you are trying this yourself).

1. Shut down the Intel NUC.

2. Remove AC power supply and all other peripherals from the Intel NUC.

3. Short the Intel NUC's positive and negative AC pins using a thin metal object (like a screwdriver) for 5 seconds.

4. Plug in the power supply and restart the Intel NUC.

After following these steps, we found the Intel NUC6i7KYK NUC Kit's Thunderbolt 3 port got reset and was working again.  We were then able to connect to Thunderbolt 3 peripherals again.
